Sales & Business Development Representative
Strobels Supply Inc. is a multifaceted company specializing in liquid paint application and industrial supply distribution. With 70+ years of successful business in Western New York, the company recently expanded to the mid-Atlantic region. With a 65,000 sq. ft. facility located near Lexington N.C., in the town of Linwood, Strobels is positioned well to serve the various manufacturing industries in the region.
The Sales & Business Development Representative will be primarily responsible for identifying and developing new customer relationships, building a pipeline, generating sales opportunities, expanding the company's market presence, and maintaining strong customer relationships after onboarding.
The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with strong communication and relationship-building skills. Prior experience with manufacturing, fabrication, and paint is a plus but not required. Given the new footprint in the region, there is no existing pipeline. The ideal candidate will have the skills needed to coordinate pipeline creation as well as front-to-back sales processes.
Key Sales & Business Development Responsibilities:
- Identify, prospect, and develop new business opportunities in both liquid paint application and industrial distribution.
- Generate qualified leads through networking, referrals, industry events, cold outreach, and other business development activities.
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve sales, revenue goals.
- Build relationships with key decision-makers and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations & proposals.
- Maintain accurate sales activity records, forecasts, and opportunity tracking.
- Prioritize customer site visits – the facility itself is a tremendous sales tool.
Account Management & Customer Relations
- Develop long-term relationships with customers to support retention and future project growth.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for secured accounts.
- Make routine in-person visits to customer facilities.
- Understand customer needs and coordinate internally to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities for account expansion and additional product sales. i.e. Liquid paint customers who have industrial supply needs and vice versa.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of successful B2B sales, business development and customer service experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable prospecting, initiating conversations, and building relationships with prospective customers.
- Self-motivated, eager to learn, and driven to achieve goals.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Proven track record of acquiring new customers and achieving sales targets.
- Comfortable with regular regional travel for customer visits and business development activities.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
- Experience managing long, complex sales cycles from prospecting through contract execution.
- Ability to identify market opportunities and develop strategies to drive business growth.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to overall sales and business development objectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the passenger rail, aviation, automotive or marine industries.
- Experience in manufacturing and fabrication industries.
- Experience working with domestic and international customers.
Compensation:
- Base Salary + Uncapped Commission
- Company vehicle and travel expenses
- Significant earning potential for candidates who successfully develop new business and grow customer accounts
