Quality Lab Technician to join their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$22/hr - $25/hr
Position Overview:
The Quality Lab Technician will join the quality and laboratory testing team and be responsible for evaluating the performance of aerosol and non-aerosol spray products, conducting first-article inspections of production units, executing laboratory testing protocols, and maintaining compliance with SOPs.
Responsibilities of the Quality Lab Technician:
- Conduct detailed assessments of aerosol and non-aerosol spray performance.
- Evaluate spray characteristics, including spray pattern, spray angle, particle distribution, flow rate/output, product coverage and consistency, and consumer usability and ergonomics.
- Document observations, deviations, and performance trends.
- Compare results against product specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Perform initial quality inspections on production samples received from manufacturing.
- Assess aesthetic attributes, including color consistency, surface finish, printing and decoration quality, label placement, component fit and assembly, and visible defects (scratches, dents, contamination, flash, etc.).
- Conduct functional testing, including actuation force, pump/spray performance, leakage evaluation, closure functionality, and product dispensing performance.
- Record findings and communicate any non-conformances to relevant stakeholders.
- Execute laboratory testing protocols in accordance with established procedures.
- Collect, analyze, and document test data accurately.
- Prepare comprehensive laboratory reports, including test objectives, methodologies, sample information, results and observations, statistical analysis (when applicable), and conclusions and recommendations.
- Maintain organized records for traceability and regulatory compliance.
Required Experience/Skills for the Quality Lab Technician:
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and reporting to stakeholders.
- Ability to follow detailed technical procedures (SOPs) precisely and consistently.
- Comfortable working with hands-on testing equipment and conducting physical and functional product evaluations.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate, traceable records.
- Proficiency with standard office and data software, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Equivalent hands-on laboratory or quality experience will be considered.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Quality Lab Technician:
- Prior experience in a laboratory, quality control, or manufacturing inspection environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle defects or performance deviations.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret test data and identify trends.
Education Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific, engineering, or technical field (e.g., Chemistry, Packaging Science, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Assurance).
