Preschool Floater/ Office Assistant – Temecula, CA 92590
Important Requirement: This is a combined office and classroom support position. Candidates must be willing and comfortable working with children ages 0–6, including providing direct childcare, diaper changing, assisting with meals and snacks, and supporting children’s daily care routines as needed.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) units are preferred. Candidates without ECE units must be willing to take online courses to obtain the required units.
Temecula Montessori Academy is seeking a full-time Preschool Floater/ Office Assistant to support our school’s daily administrative operations and provide classroom assistance as needed.
This is a great position for someone who is organized, comfortable with technology, a quick learner, and enjoys being around young children. The ideal candidate is able to learn new systems quickly, handle multiple tasks efficiently, and communicate professionally with staff and families.
About the Position
This is a combination office support and classroom floater position. Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with daily preschool office and administrative tasks
- Creating, editing, and organizing documents, spreadsheets, forms, and school records
- Using Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Gmail, and other office software
- Learning and using school management and parent communication software such as Procare
- Assisting with student records, attendance, filing, data entry, and other administrative duties
- Communicating professionally and warmly with parents, teachers, and staff
- Answering phones and assisting families with general questions
- Supporting classrooms and teachers as a floater when needed
- Helping supervise children during transitions, breaks, activities, and other times as assigned
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism when handling student, family, and staff information
- Assisting the Director and administrative team with other daily school operations as needed
About You
We are looking for someone who is responsible, detail-oriented, adaptable, and eager to learn. You should be comfortable working independently while also being a supportive team member.
Because our school uses technology throughout our daily operations, computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly are very important for this position.
Qualifications
- computer and general office skills
- Comfortable using Google Workspace, including Google Docs, Google Sheets, Gmail, and Google Drive
- Strong ability to learn new technology and school management software quickly
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Friendly and professional communication skills
- Reliable, flexible, and willing to assist wherever needed
- Enjoys working in a preschool environment and being around young children
- Previous experience working with children is preferred
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) units are preferred
- Preschool, school office, administrative, or customer service experience is a plus
- Experience with Procare or other childcare management software is a plus, but not required
- Must pass a criminal background check and meet applicable California licensing requirements
