Position Overview:
The Vision Companies is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Contents Technician to join a growing restoration team in Plymouth, MN. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in organization, and is committed to helping restore personal and commercial property following water, fire, smoke, mold, and other disaster-related damage.
The ideal candidate is reliable, customer-focused, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while handling customers' belongings with care and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
Contents Restoration
- Inventory, pack, clean, and restore residential and commercial contents damaged by water, fire, smoke, mold, and other disasters
- Clean and restore contents using specialized equipment and restoration techniques
- Perform deodorization, drying, and other restoration processes
- Handle customer belongings with care while maintaining high quality standards
Inventory & Documentation
- Conduct detailed inventories of contents, including photographs and written documentation
- Ensure all contents are properly labeled, tracked, and stored throughout the restoration process
- Maintain accurate records of restored and packed items
- Assist with documentation required for insurance and restoration projects
Team & Customer Support
- Perform assigned cleaning duties with minimal supervision
- Assist in loading company vehicles with equipment, supplies, and materials needed for each project
- Communicate professionally with clients, coworkers, and insurance representatives regarding project status
- Follow all company safety procedures and restoration protocols
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Minnesota Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Preferred
- Previous experience in content restoration, cleaning, moving, restoration services, or a related field
- Experience working in customer service or property restoration
- Knowledge of restoration equipment and cleaning techniques
Working Conditions:
- Indoor and outdoor restoration environments
- Exposure to water, smoke, mold, odors, cleaning products, and varying weather conditions
- Frequent travel to residential and commercial job sites
- Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and attention to detail
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday
- Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to wear appropriate protective clothing and safety equipment when required
- Ability to safely handle restoration equipment and customer belongings
