POSITION PURPOSE:
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of Physician or mid-level provider by performing the following duties.
KEY REPONSIBILITIES:

Interviews patients and provides office duties such as vital sign measurement, pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height. All information, to include medical history, is recorded in patients' charts.

Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.

Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment Hands instruments and materials to provider as directed.

Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials Calls medical facilities to schedule patients for tests.

Gives injections or treatments and timely logs this information as required.

Schedules appointments for ancillary services.
-
Maintains office and patient records.
-
Responsible for maintaining equipment logs.
-
Responsible for lab controls, in-house lab testing.
-
Manages inventory and proper handling of stocked medications.
-
Manages difficult or emotional customer situations and responds promptly to customer needs.
-
Understanding of computer software and general knowledge of an electronic medical record program.

Assists in all areas of the clinic as needed.

Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED, Medical Assistant certificate from college or technical school;

Medical Assistant certification from the certifying institution accredited by the Medical Assistant program,
-
BLS certification
-
Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Medical Assistant Certification required and BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
