Global Cuisine Events is seeking an experienced, organized, and hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team. We produce high-volume corporate catering, studio productions, weddings, galas, and special events throughout Los Angeles. This role is ideal for a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about organization and efficiency, and knows how to keep a kitchen operating at the highest level.
Responsibilities
- Manage all kitchen operations to ensure efficiency, organization, and consistency.
- Maintain accurate inventory and oversee product ordering from vendors.
- Monitor food costs, labor, waste, and inventory levels to maximize profitability.
- Develop and implement systems to reduce overproduction and minimize food waste.
- Budget and cost event menus while maintaining quality and profitability.
- Delegate daily responsibilities to kitchen staff and ensure all production timelines are met.
- Hold the kitchen team accountable for consistency in recipes, portioning, presentation, and cooking techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and health department-compliant kitchen at all times.
- Ensure all staff members take required meal and rest breaks in accordance with company policy and California labor laws.
- Train, coach, and mentor kitchen employees while maintaining high performance standards.
- Address performance issues professionally and provide disciplinary coaching when necessary.
- Coordinate with the Executive Chef and event management team to ensure seamless execution of catering events.
- Anticipate production needs for multiple events while balancing prep levels to prevent shortages and excess waste.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented kitchen culture.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of kitchen management experience in high-volume catering, hospitality, or special events.
- Large-scale special event and catering experience is required.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (required).
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, food costing, and budgeting.
- Experience leading teams in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
