Job Title: Veterinary Technician

Position Summary:
The role requires a compassionate, detail-oriented, and reliable Veterinary Technician to join our team. This role plays a vital part in supporting veterinarians, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment. The ideal candidate will possess skills in animal handling, clinical procedures, and inventory management, with a strong work ethic and a passion for animal health.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Clinical Support:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
- Collect and process lab samples (blood, urine, feces, etc.).
- Monitor and record vital signs and patient progress.
- Provide compassionate handling and restraint of animals.
- IV catheter placement and endotracheal intubation.
Cleaning & Sanitation:
- Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and surgical suites.
- Disinfect surfaces and instruments according to clinic protocols.
- Launder towels, scrubs, and bedding regularly.
- Ensure biohazard and waste materials are disposed of safely and in compliance with regulations.
Client Communication:
- Educate clients on basic animal care, medications, and post-treatment instructions.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with client check-ins as needed.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred or equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of clinical experience in a veterinary setting (preferred).
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, medications, and procedures.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 40+ lbs and handle animals of all sizes.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced clinical setting with exposure to animals, bodily fluids, and cleaning chemicals.
- May require evenings, weekends, or holiday shifts depending on clinic hours.
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
