American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level II Trauma facility in West Virginia, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and Epic proficiency.

Acute care hospital setting with a Level II Trauma designation
-
Operating Room unit with 11 total rooms: 8 OR suites and 3 Endoscopy suites, averaging approximately 65 cases per day
-
Wide variety of surgical cases including vascular, general, orthopedic, neuro, eyes, and ENT — open heart cases are excluded
-
Da Vinci Robot is in active use; experience with this system is a strong plus
-
Equipment includes Baxter pumps and Philips and Dynomap monitors

Cross-training to Endoscopy is expected

Epic EMR is used in this position

Schedule is 12-hour day shifts with weekends as scheduled

On-call rotation includes one weeknight call (7p–7a) every 4 weeks and one weekend call shift (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, up to 24 hours) per 13-week contract

Active WV RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand

BLS certification required

ACLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of OR experience required

Experience across all areas of the OR required

Epic EMR experience required

Valid, unexpired driver's license required for consideration

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

No prescreen interview required for this OR position; candidates will interview directly with the unit manager

Two supervisor and peer references required — if the candidate worked a permanent position in the last 12 months, one reference must be from that permanent employer

Skills checklist completed within the past year is required

Copies of all certifications and a valid driver's license must be provided for consideration

Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being considered

Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one cumulative year without taking a 2-year break
