Direct Care Worker
The Mental Health Rehab Specialist will...
- Assist in crisis intervention, and to provide support and assistance with problem-solving, decision- making, and teaching/modeling daily living skills
- Giving advice; providing information or brief education regarding behavioral health problems within the scope of practice.
- Teaching emotional and behavioral skills necessary for the attainment of our youth/NMD’s goal
- Assist with improving, maintaining, and restoring functional skills, daily living skills, social and leisure skills, grooming & personal hygiene skills, meal preparation skills, and support skills; and/or medication education.
- Provide services in one-on-one or in a group setting as the services are behaviorally based and are an adjunct to individual or group therapy.
- Work and relate to residents with emotional disturbances and their families
Minimum Requirements:
A. Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral or Social Science
B. Thirty Semester (45 quarter) units completed college coursework in behavioral or social science
C. Sixty semesters (90 quarter units) of completed course work, which includes 15 semester
(23 quarters) units in behavioral science
D. Preferably 1-2 year experience providing direct mental health services under supervision of a licensed clinician
E. Must be 21 years or older
At least 1-year experience as staff and/or volunteer at a group home or STRTP
Meets all state required conditions of employment as set forth by Community Care Licensing for a Licensed Community Care facility; i.e. Fingerprint and child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health Physical, valid CDL and clean driving record.
