Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, and electrical systems using schematics and automotive diagnostic tools.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension work, shocks & struts replacement, and wheel alignments to keep equipment operating smoothly.
- Repair and fabricate components for heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and industrial equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and fabrication skills.
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems repair issues on vehicles like tractor-trailers and heavy trucks; identify problems with vehicle systems for truck drivers and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist in assembly, disassembly, and equipment repair tasks involving complex mechanical systems; perform heavy lifting safely during repairs or replacements.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, incident logs, and ensure all asset protection procedures are followed diligently.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair needs clearly and offering solutions that maximize vehicle uptime.
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or background working with heavy equipment mechanics is highly preferred. But not neccessary.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive repair, vehicle maintenance, transmissions, suspension systems, HVAC systems in vehicles, and diesel engine repair.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting electrical or hydraulic systems.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment for automotive electrical systems, and powerlifting techniques for heavy lifting tasks.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators or cranes is a plus; knowledge of farm machinery and industrial equipment will enhance your effectiveness.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; understanding of automotive electrical system repair essential.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to vehicle diagnostics and repairs; strong customer service orientation is a must.
