Position Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, highly organized, and energetic Host / Hostess to join our team. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, you set the tone for their dining experience. You will manage seatings, oversee reservation systems, coordinate with servers and managers, and ensure everyone feels welcomed from the moment they step through the door.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Greeting: Warmly welcome guests upon arrival, manage the waitlist, and seat guests efficiently according to dining room rotation.
Reservation Management: Handle phone calls, answer guest inquiries, and manage reservation software (e.g., OpenTable, Resy) accurately.
Table Rotation & Flow: Monitor dining room activity, communicate table availability with floor staff, and balance seatings so servers are not overwhelmed.
Menu Distribution: Provide menus, highlight daily specials, and ensure all menus are clean and presentable.
Order Processing: Take phone orders accurately, answer menu questions, and process payments through the POS system.
Takeout Packaging: Verify order accuracy, double-check special requests or modifications, and package takeout and delivery meals securely (including bagging items, packing sauces, utensils, and condiments).
Delivery Coordination: Organize completed orders for pickup, hand off deliveries to third-party drivers or guests, and ensure correct receipt matching.
Farewell & Feedback: Thank departing guests, inquire about their dining experience, and invite them back.
Cleanliness & Organization: Keep the host stand, entrance area, and foyer neat and stocked with necessary supplies.
Team Assistance: Assist bussers and servers during peak rush periods by clearing or resetting tables when necessary.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Prior experience as a host/hostess or customer service role in a restaurant/hospitality environment is preferred, but not required.
Communication Skills: Clear, welcoming verbal skills with a strong focus on exceptional customer service.
Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency; experience with reservation management platforms is a plus.
Punctuality & Reliability: Strong attendance record and ability to work flexible shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and move comfortably through a busy dining room.
Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour
