NextGen Energy Careers is partnering with Capital Energy to identify experienced Solar Energy Consultants in the Phoenix metro area.
This is an in-home sales role for closers who know how to build trust, run appointments, manage a pipeline, and close business professionally. We support a national retail hardware partnership that creates homeowner interest in solar and battery solutions, giving qualified consultants access to appointment opportunities while also providing the training and systems to build additional business through referrals, self-generated leads, and follow-up.
We are looking for strong salespeople who want a real opportunity, not a clock-in, clock-out job.

About the Role
As a Solar Energy Consultant, you will meet with homeowners in person to help them understand their energy options and determine whether solar and battery solutions make sense for their home.
You will be responsible for presenting the program clearly, answering questions, managing objections, and guiding qualified homeowners through the decision-making process.
Appointment opportunities are available for qualified consultants through our national retail hardware partnership. Appointment distribution, expectations, and sales support will be discussed during the interview process.
The best consultants in this role are not just good closers. They are strong operators. They follow up, stay organized, generate referrals, manage their pipeline, and keep deals moving from appointment to installation.
What You’ll Do
- Run in-home appointments with homeowners
- Present solar and battery solutions in a clear, professional way
- Close qualified customers and manage the follow-up process
- Build referral opportunities from customers and personal relationships
- Create additional opportunities through self-generated activity
- Maintain strong communication with setters, managers, and operations
- Track and manage your pipeline with urgency
- Provide a professional customer experience from appointment to install
- Represent the company well in the home and in the field
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for experienced closers who want more opportunity, better support, and the ability to grow inside a high-performance sales environment.
Solar experience is preferred, but not required for the right person. We are open to training proven closers from similar industries who already know how to sell, follow up, and work with customers face-to-face.

Top consultants in this role have the ability to earn $150,000–$250,000+ annually, with many experienced Energy Consultants earning over $200,000 based on performance.
This is a commission-based compensation paid per installed project.
Schedule
This is a full-time sales opportunity. The schedule is flexible, but consultants must be available for homeowner appointments, including evenings and weekends, which are often the strongest appointment times.
Because we support retail-generated homeowner interest across the Phoenix metro area, consultants must be willing and able to travel throughout Phoenix and surrounding communities.
Requirements
- 2+ years of sales experience preferred
- In-home, outside sales, or closing experience strongly preferred
- Solar experience preferred, but not required for the right candidate
- Reliable transportation required
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
- Professional appearance and customer-facing presence
- Ability to work independently in a commission-based environment
- Ability to pass required onboarding/background requirements
