The Clinical Supervisor provides clinical oversight and leadership to a team of therapists/clinicians while maintaining a small caseload and contributing to the agency's administrative operations. This role balances direct client care with supervisory and program support responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Staff Development
Provide individual and/or group clinical supervision to staff (LMHC, LICSW, LMFT, and associate-licensed clinicians)
Review treatment plans, clinical documentation, and case conceptualizations for quality and compliance
Support staff professional development, licensure progress, and skill-building
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback
Group Facilitation
Facilitate therapeutic and/or psychoeducational groups for clients
Develop group curricula as needed
Model best practices in group facilitation for supervisees
Direct Clinical Care
Maintain a reduced caseload (e.g., 10–15 clients) providing individual therapy
Conduct assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and treatment planning
Document sessions in compliance with MA licensing board and payer requirements
Administrative Duties
Complete administrative tasks on an as-needed basis (e.g., utilization review, incident reports, credentialing support, policy development)
Participate in agency leadership or clinical team meetings
Assist with intake review, case assignment, or waitlist management
Support compliance with DPH, BSAS, or MassHealth regulations as applicable
Qualifications
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
Independent licensure in Massachusetts required (LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT)
Minimum 3–5 years of post-licensure clinical experience
Prior supervisory experience preferred; approved clinical supervisor status (per MA board requirements) a plus
Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices and group facilitation
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
