Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician with Boiler License is responsible for the preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and safe operation of production and facility equipment, including boiler and utility systems. This hands-on position supports equipment reliability, plant safety, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced industrial laundry environment.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain boiler systems in compliance with Texas regulations and company safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, and plumbing systems.
- Maintain conveyors, motors, pumps, valves, control panels, and 480V electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoot PLCs and other electrical control systems.
- Complete work orders, inspections, and preventive maintenance documentation.
- Maintain steam, heating, cooling, and water treatment systems.
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and required PPE.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors as needed.
- Participate in scheduled shutdowns, emergency repairs, and on-call coverage as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Texas Boiler Operator License required.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or commercial maintenance.
- Experience with boiler operations, steam systems, 480V electrical systems, PLC troubleshooting, mechanical equipment, conveyors, motors, pumps, and plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work overtime, weekends, rotating shifts, and on-call schedules as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the commercial laundry industry.
- Experience in high-speed or continuous-process manufacturing.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing ladders.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Frequent use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including gloves, hearing protection, and safety eyewear.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position throughout the entire shift.
Work Environment
Work is performed in an industrial laundry facility with exposure to heat, humidity, noise, steam, chemicals, moving machinery, confined spaces, and varying temperatures. Employees must follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment while performing assigned duties.
