Duties
- Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, recording vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding of the process.
- Support clinical procedures including medication administration, basic life support (BLS), X-ray assistance, and basic physiology assessments.
- Manage medical documentation such as ICD coding for diagnoses, tracking patient progress, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Conduct routine clinical tasks like specimen collection, wound dressing changes, and assisting with minor procedures in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Support hospital medicine units such as PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics wards, or Level I/II trauma centers by providing essential patient care assistance.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols for emergency medicine and hospital experience scenarios.
Experience
- Prior experience working in outpatient clinics, hospital settings, or specialized units such as dermatology or internal medicine is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, ICD coding, and medication administration practices.
- Experience supporting emergency medicine situations or Level I/II trauma centers enhances your ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and patient data management is essential.
- Previous roles involving inpatient care or hospital experience in medical-surgical units or PICU settings are advantageous.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications like X-ray assistance or OR experience are a plus.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations while maintaining professionalism.
