Duties
- Greet customers warmly, offering personalized assistance and product recommendations
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for retail transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Conduct product demos and tastings to educate customers about different wines and pairings
- Upsell products by suggesting complementary items or premium selections to boost sales
- Manage stock levels by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and conducting inventory counts
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or taking orders
- Handle cash register operations with precision, including balancing cash drawers and processing returns or exchanges
- Assist with merchandising efforts to create attractive displays that highlight featured products
- Support store cleanliness and organization to ensure a welcoming shopping environment
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience, preferably in grocery stores or specialty beverage shops
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is essential
- Experience conducting product demos or tastings enhances customer engagement skills
- Bilingual abilities are valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Strong communication skills for engaging with customers and team members alike
- Basic math skills for handling transactions, inventory counts, and sales calculations
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and grocery store operations is advantageous
