The Mowbray's Tree Service Groundsperson provides essential support for tree trimming and vegetation management operations around power lines and utility structures. This role involves working on the ground to assist with various tasks such as clearing debris, managing equipment, and ensuring a safe work environment. The Groundsperson will work closely with tree trimmers and foremen to facilitate efficient and safe operations, contributing to the overall success of the trimming projects.
Responsibilities:

Assist tree trimmers by managing debris, clearing brush, and ensuring the work area is organized and safe.

Help with the setup and breakdown of work sites, including setting up safety barriers and traffic control if needed.

Operate ground-based equipment such as chippers, loaders, and chainsaws under the direction of the crew foreman.

Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, gloves, and safety glasses.

Monitor the work site for potential hazards and take action to prevent accidents.

Assist with maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment, including managing and disposing of debris.

Assist in the maintenance and operation of equipment used in tree trimming and debris removal.

Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and report any malfunctions to the foreman.

Help with fueling, cleaning, and performing basic repairs on equipment as needed.

Work closely with the tree trimming crew to support their activities and ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and safely.

Follow instructions from the foreman and senior trimmers to ensure that all operations run smoothly.

Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and manage work site activities.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to work in various weather conditions if required by the job.
Must have the ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, including twisting, bending, climbing, and stooping.
Must possess fine motor skills and dexterity to handle tools and equipment.
Other Requirements:
Must possess a valid driver’s license, CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is preferred.
Willingness to travel if required by the job.
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
