Job Description
We are seeking an Automation Team Assistant to join our Controlled Environments Team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with greenhouse operations, automated systems, and material handling equipment and a proven ability to execute standard operating procedures safely, reliably, and with attention to detail.
Schedule & Work Conditions:
- Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
- Rotational weekend work approximately every 6th weekend, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM. Comp days provided once adequately trained.
- Work performed in warm, humid greenhouse environments with pollen present year-round.
Responsibilities:
- Work safely by following written procedures and protocols.
- Run industrial equipment including tippers and grinders.
- Drive company truck and trailer to support operations.
- Operate forklift and pallet jack to organize and stock supplies.
- Load and run automated washers, including pot and flat washers.
- Perform basic plant care tasks within the automated headhouse and greenhouses.
- Assist with transplanting plants into the automated headhouse.
- Assist with plant sampling activities within the automated headhouse and greenhouses.
- Troubleshoot and document issues within automated systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Effective communication, self-motivation, and a positive, professional attitude.
- Ability to work independently and follow standard operating protocols.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to personal safety and ergonomics.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a forklift, truck, and trailer.
- Basic computer skills with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, and willingness to learn internal research software.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks in greenhouse conditions.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in greenhouse or controlled environment operations.
- Comfort working around automated and robotic systems.
Pay: $22.85 per hour
