Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to identify, evaluate, and purchase pre-owned vehicles for our inventory. This role combines vehicle knowledge, online research, customer communication, and negotiation skills to secure high-quality vehicles at competitive prices.
Duties
- Research and source vehicle leads online through marketplaces, CRM tools, and inbound inquiries.
- Proactively contact sellers, build rapport, and schedule in-person vehicle evaluations.
- Inspect and test drive vehicles to assess condition, drivability, and overall value.
- Identify previous bodywork, accident damage, mechanical issues, and reconditioning needs.
- Accurately evaluate vehicles and adjust purchase offers based on condition and market data.
- Negotiate purchase prices with private sellers and customers in a professional manner.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with leads to maximize acquisition opportunities.
- Enter and manage lead activity, notes, and purchase details within CRM systems.
- Collaborate with the team to meet monthly acquisition goals and inventory targets.
- Ensure all interactions reflect a professional and customer-focused experience.
Requirements
- Strong automotive knowledge and ability to confidently drive all types of vehicles (manual transmission preferred).
- Ability to recognize prior bodywork, paintwork, and signs of accident or mechanical issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Proven negotiation and communication skills.
- Comfortable spending significant time researching and communicating online.
- Proficient with computers, internet research, and CRM software.
- Strong follow-up habits and time-management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, and lift as needed throughout the workday.
- Comfortable driving and inspecting vehicles in various weather and lot conditions.
