Job purpose:
The CDL Class A Driver plays a crucial role in the movement of freight to and from spectrum and its suppliers / customers. This role involves Route Delivery with multiple stops. The employee would be required touch Freight. and must have a valid driver’s license in VA, MD, or DC. and a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s card.
Essential Functions
- Performs deliveries, pick-ups, and returns of produce, dairy products, and dry goods to / from Keany Produce customers and suppliers.
- Daily runs ~ NO overnights
- Reviews paperwork for assigned route(s) to ensure that all invoices are present and in good condition.
- Inspects cargo loads to ensure that they are packed appropriately.
- Ensures that all vehicles are cleaned out properly at the end of each shift.
- Perform and document pre-trip and post trip inspections in proper Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) format
- Maintain communication with supervisors to ensure D.O.T. required documentation is maintained.
- Keeps track of hours worked to maintain responsibility for not exceeding D.O.T. Hours of Duty (60 hrs.)
- Requirements:
- High School diploma or its equivalent
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must have CDL A License.
- Must have a clean MVR for the past three (3) years.
- Ability to comprehend and fully follow established and new company policies and procedures.
- Ability to work in and adapt to changing business patterns.
- Must have good customer service and communication skills.
- Must be a responsible driver with good knowledge of roads and map reading skills.
- Have good work ethic.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical/drug screen and employment verifications per FMCR.
- Must have knowledge of DOT rules, regulations, and laws for the safe and proper operation of a tractor trailer.
- Commercial Driver's License - Class A
Experience: Minimum two years of verifiable driving experience
