Job Summary
The MVU After School Site Lead supports the Site Coordinator in the successful implementation of after school programs at the middle/high school. This position has mandatory in person hours from 2:00-6:00pm Monday-Friday.
In the 26-27 School Year, from August-December, responsibilities will include: shadowing Site Coordinator in day to day responsibilities, learning class creation and implementation, updating paperwork, communicating with parents and students, supervising classrooms, promoting a safe, enriching, and inclusive environment, learning and assisting with meal service, and more.
*From December- mid April, this position will take over as Interim Site Coordinator while normal Site Coordinator is on maternity leave.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging after-school activities that promote learning, creativity, teamwork, and physical activity.
- Supervise students during all program activities, ensuring safety and appropriate behavior at all times.
- Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and respectful environment.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, including first aid procedures, CPR guidelines, AED operation, and emergency response plans.
- Collaborate with team members to develop age-appropriate curricula
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding children's progress and any concerns that arise during program hours.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure compliance with all program policies and licensing requirements.
Skills
- Proven experience working with youth in educational or recreational settings such as daycare, camp, youth programs, or tutoring.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse behaviors constructively.
- Knowledge of first aid protocols, CPR certification, AED operation, and emergency response procedures.
