Golf Shop Attendant
Reports to: Assistant Golf Pro; Golf Pro
Supervises: No supervisory duties are included in this position.
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
The Golf Shop Attendant is responsible for providing a high level of personalized service to members and their guests while supporting the daily operations of the golf shop. As a key front-line representative of the Club, this position plays an integral role in fostering a welcoming, professional, and detail-oriented environment that reflects the Club’s standards and traditions.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
- Able to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system and tee sheet/reservation software (or ability to quickly learn).
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Knowledge of golf etiquette, terminology, and operations strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a service-first mindset.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with members and guests.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
Job Tasks/Duties
- Warmly greet members and guests by name whenever possible, creating a personalized and welcoming experience
- Manage golfer check-in procedures, including confirming tee times, guest registration, and accurate billing to member accounts
- Answer incoming calls in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner, assisting with tee time reservations, event inquiries, and general club information
- Accurately book and manage tee times in accordance with club policies, prioritizing member access and accommodating special requests when appropriate
- Maintain thorough knowledge of the club’s membership, golf calendar, course conditions, and policies to effectively assist members
- Process point-of-sale transactions, including retail purchases and member charges, with a high level of accuracy and discretion
- Assist in merchandising and presentation of golf shop inventory, ensuring displays meet the club’s standards of excellence
- Support tournament operations, including event registration, scoring assistance, and communication with participants
- Collaborate closely with golf professional staff and outside services to ensure seamless daily operations and pace of play
- Anticipate member needs and proactively provide assistance to enhance the overall club experience
- Handle member concerns with professionalism, urgency, and confidentiality; escalate issues to management when necessary
Education and/or Experience
- Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent; some college preferred.
- Previous customer service retailing experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling.
- Frequent repetitive motions.
- Continuous standing and walking.

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
