Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Reach Truck Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating reach trucks and other heavy equipment to efficiently move, load, and unload materials within our distribution center. Shift: 4pm to 12:30am
Responsibilities
- Safely operate reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse
- Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Assist with order picking using <PERSON> pick systems and ensure accuracy in fulfilling customer orders
- Manage warehouse inventory by accurately recording movements within the warehouse management system (WMS)
- Support shipping and receiving processes by preparing goods for dispatch or storage while adhering to OSHA safety standards
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize storage space and improve materials handling efficiency
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely when handling bulky or heavy items requiring specialized equipment such as clamp trucks or heavy-duty forklifts
Experience
- Proven experience operating reach trucks, forklifts, or other heavy equipment in a warehouse or distribution environment
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and order picker technology
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to forklift operation and materials handling
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes including shipping & receiving, load & unload procedures, and inventory management
- Prior experience in warehouse supervision or team leadership is a plus but not required
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and order accuracy
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced setting
