Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance-Handyman to join our dynamic facilities team. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of our residential or commercial properties. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and mechanical systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Conduct welding tasks and mechanical repairs as needed to maintain facility integrity.
- Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including fixtures, pipes, and drainage.
- Execute residential painting projects to uphold property aesthetics and standards.
- Operate CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and manage inventory of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) supplies.
- Supervise or assist with facilities maintenance projects while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Assist with HVAC system repairs or upgrades to improve energy efficiency and indoor air quality.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
- Lead or support team members in maintenance tasks while demonstrating leadership qualities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar handyman role within manufacturing or residential environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in electrical equipment repair, plumbing system maintenance, HVAC systems, welding, and schematics interpretation.
- Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) used in industrial automation is a plus.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics accurately.
- Proficiency with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters; experience with electrical troubleshooting is essential.
- Knowledge of CMMS software for maintenance tracking and inventory management.
- Excellent communication skills in English; ability to explain technical issues clearly to team members or residents.
- Supervising or leadership experience is preferred for those guiding junior staff or contractors.
- Valid knowledge of safety standards related to electrical work, plumbing, HVAC repair, welding, and general facilities maintenance.
