MyDr Pharmacy is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Sterile Pharmacy Technician to join our compounding team in Herndon, VA. In this role, you will prepare sterile compounded medications in accordance with USP <797> standards, support the pharmacist in day-to-day operations, and help ensure every preparation meets the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and quality. This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling. We are looking for a technician who can work a minimum of 2 days with a typical range of 12 –15 hours per week. Specific days and shifts can be arranged to fit both your availability and the needs of the pharmacy, making this role well suited to candidates seeking a flexible, part-time commitment.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile compounded medications (IV admixtures, injectables, and related preparations) using proper aseptic technique in compliance with USP <797> and applicable USP <800> requirements.
- Perform accurate calculations, measurements, and documentation for each preparation, verifying ingredients, quantities, and lot numbers.
- Operate and maintain a clean, compliant compounding environment, including laminar airflow workstations, biological safety cabinets, and cleanrooms.
- Complete required cleaning, environmental monitoring, and equipment logs per policy and regulatory standards.
- Manage inventory of sterile products and supplies, including receiving, stocking, rotating stock, and monitoring expiration dates.
- Label, package, and prepare finished preparations for pharmacist verification and dispensing.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in the pharmacy management system.
- Adhere to all federal, state (Virginia Board of Pharmacy), and organizational policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Support the pharmacist and pharmacy team with additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active Pharmacy Technician registration with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy.
- Current national certification (PTCB — CPhT, or ExCPT).
- Prior hands-on sterile compounding experience with a working knowledge of USP <797> standards and aseptic technique.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to follow precise procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to a minimum of 2 days / 14 hours per week.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Pay: $24.68 - $29.72 per hour
