Full-Time Dentist – Bilingual English/Farsi Required
Southern California Medical Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is seeking an experienced Dentist to join our dental team on a full-time basis.
The Dentist will provide comprehensive dental care to patients at our Van Nuys and Woodland Hills clinic locations. This position requires the ability to travel between both locations based on clinic and patient needs. Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel from one work site to another for work-related purposes.
Bilingual English and Farsi proficiency is required.
Position Responsibilities
The Dentist will provide high-quality, patient-centered dental care in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and organizational policies. Responsibilities include:
- Perform comprehensive dental examinations and evaluations.
- Obtain and document complete dental and medical histories.
- Diagnose oral health conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide comprehensive general dentistry services to patients of all appropriate age groups.
- Perform restorative procedures, including fillings and other appropriate treatments.
- Perform extractions and other routine dental procedures within the scope of practice.
- Diagnose and treat dental infections and other oral health conditions.
- Review and interpret dental X-rays and other diagnostic information.
- Provide preventive dental care and patient education.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene, preventive care, and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate and timely dental records.
- Refer patients to specialists when clinically appropriate.
- Coordinate patient care with medical providers and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
- Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and other organizational meetings as required.
- Follow all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
- Provide culturally competent and compassionate care to a diverse patient population.
Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited dental school (DDS or DMD).
- Current and unrestricted California Dentist license.
- Minimum 2+ years of professional dental experience required.
- Bilingual English/Farsi required.
- Current professional liability coverage or ability to obtain coverage.
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Ability and willingness to work at both the Van Nuys and Woodland Hills clinic locations.
- Reliable transportation for travel between assigned clinic locations.
- Commitment to providing quality, accessible healthcare to underserved communities.
Location & Travel
This is a full-time position serving patients at our:
- Van Nuys Clinic
- Woodland Hills Clinic
The Dentist may be scheduled at either location based on operational and patient care needs.
Mileage incurred while traveling from one clinic work site to another for work-related purposes is reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
