Are you an Engineering veteran with extensive Geotechnical experience? Are you a natural collaborator with an interest in digging into project sites and developing a highly performing team around you? Would you like to expand and refine your Special Inspections skills? AOG is looking for a Field Engineer to anchor our project work, advance our core processes, boost our client relationships, and help our people grow.
Your new role:
You’ll thrive on getting your hands dirty in the field to do whatever it takes to give clients the comprehensive Geotechnical solutions they expect from us. You’ll play a key role in training and guiding the performance of Field Technicians and Engineering staff, and you’ll work closely with our Field Services Director to advance our FieldOne processes, operations, and estimating. You’ll also drive relationships with project partners and find opportunities to create new relationships. You won’t worry about packing a bag and hitting the road because you’ll only work on project sites in the Greater Kansas City area. An occasional office presence will be expected. Some of your work may be done remotely if it makes sense. You’ll report directly to our Field Services Director.
A day in the life of an AOG Field Engineer includes:
- Providing Engineering support and recommendations for soil, foundation, and Special Inspections
- Collaborating with our Field Services Director to ensure the right people and resources are in place to successfully execute Geotechnical services
- Investing time with Field Technicians for professional development and counsel
- Promoting incident and injury free workplace

What you need to fit this position and be successful:
- 5-10 Years of construction experience
- 3 to 5 Years of Geotechnical Engineering expertise
- 3 to 5 Years of experience with construction materials testing
- Experience handling Special Inspection and discrepancy reporting and resolution
ACI • ICC • NICET • AWS • Masonry • Floor Flatness • Fire Proofing/Stopping certifications (preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Geology
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred or EIT
