About the Role
As a CBRE Union Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for supporting building operations through equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and instrument calibration activities. You will help ensure critical systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably while minimizing downtime and supporting business continuity.
This role is part of the Engineering & Technical Services function, which provides preventive maintenance, technical support, and repair services for building equipment and systems. The team is responsible for maintaining operational excellence, supporting facility performance, and delivering a high-quality experience for clients and occupants.
This position is governed by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. What You'll Do
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and restore equipment and technical systems to resolve routine operational issues.
Address major network or system problems that impact multiple business locations, critical infrastructure, or site operations.
Verify that maintenance records, system configurations, technical documentation, and reference materials are accurate and up to date.
Perform and support preventive maintenance activities in accordance with established schedules and procedures.
Participate in user training for system and application updates, enhancements, and new functionality.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, training materials, and operational procedures.
Apply advanced technical knowledge and industry best practices to complete complex assignments and recommend innovative solutions.
Provide guidance, coaching, and technical expertise to team members and support knowledge-sharing across disciplines.
Lead by example and demonstrate behaviors aligned with CBRE RISE values while building consensus and fostering collaboration.
Communicate complex or sensitive technical information clearly to stakeholders and support operational, project, and service-related initiatives. What You'll Need
High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4–5 years of related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of education and experience will be considered.
Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting or carrying loads of 50 pounds or more.
Ability to analyze information from multiple sources and exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
Willingness to challenge existing approaches and identify improved solutions.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong organizational skills and an inquisitive, problem-solving mindset.
Ability to work independently within broad guidelines and established procedures.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain difficult or sensitive information effectively. Why CBRE
