Job Description
Our cooks prepare high-quality meals in accordance with food health and safety regulations, as well as state & company standards. To be successful, you must be diligent, pay attention to detail, be able to run a line by yourself or as part of a team, be able to think fast on your feet and be able to follow basic instructions (written and/or verbal)
Responsibilities
- Assists in maintaining a well-organized and efficient food service department
- Demonstrates understanding of all basic food production skill sets with the ability to perform these error-free and meet the company quality standards
- Prepares and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized manner
- Prep, Cooking & Cleaning is required
- Communicate between the front & back of the house
- Talk to residents when necessary to discuss likes and dislikes of the meal offered
Qualifications
- Experience and/or knowledge of meal preparation
- Safe food handling techniques (Safe Serve preferred but not required)
- Ability to read and follow recipes
- Ability to work with others or by self
- Understanding of different cooking techniques, cook times, food storage and proper food handling
- Multitasking is a plus
- Open communication with staff and residents
- Identify flavor profiles (what does and does not go together)
