Job Title: Surgical Technician
Location: Olympia Fields, IL, 60461
Shift: Day Shift, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Duration: 13 weeks (Possible extension)
On-Call: Required
Local Pay: $38/Hour
Travel Pay: Weekly Gross: $1,600.00, In which Taxable: $600.00 & Non Taxable: $1,000.00
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Surgical Technician for a travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have strong operating room experience, the ability to work independently, and proficiency in orthopedic procedures within a fast-paced surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments for procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Ensure proper handling of surgical instruments and equipment
- Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to infection control standards
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures
- Perform surgical counts and ensure patient safety protocols are followed
- Document procedures accurately in the EMR system
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a busy Operating Room setting
- Strong experience in orthopedic surgical procedures required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system required
- Ability to work independently without supervision
- Must be comfortable taking call and working autonomously when needed
- Certification as a Surgical Technician preferred (CST or equivalent)
- BLS certification (AHA required)

Pay: Up to $38.00 per hour
