American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Mother Baby/Couplet Care position at an HCA facility in Richmond, VA, requiring at least 2 years of labor experience and active VA or compact RN licensure.

Mother Baby/Couplet Care unit located on the 3rd floor of a 24-bed Maternal Infant Unit within a hospital setting

Day shift hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

13-week contract

Patient ratios: Labor 1:1, postpartum 5-6:1, nursery 5-6:1
-
Unit performs vaginal deliveries, C-sections, antepartum care, and newborn and postpartum care
-
GE fetal monitors are used on the unit
-
EMR: Meditech (CPN)
-
Day shift team includes labor nurses, nursery nurses, OB techs, secretary, leadership, and an educator
-
Every third weekend required, plus 12 hours of on-call per 4-week schedule

Active VA or compact RN license required

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, American Academy of Pediatrics card), and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate or Advanced) or NCCEFM

Minimum 2 years of labor experience required

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)

Preferred background includes 2+ years of labor experience in an LDRP setting with high birth volumes

Navy blue scrubs required; MIU nurses are issued pink badges for infant security
-
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date

AHA or ARC certifications are accepted
