Job Summary
The Production & Materials Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the daily workflow, materials management, and production activities of the production floor to ensure efficiency, productivity, quality, and safety. This position oversees the movement of raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods throughout the facility while ensuring production staff and individuals served have the materials and support necessary to meet production goals.
The Production & Materials Coordinator monitors productivity, quality, inventory levels, and production schedules while working closely with the Manufacturing Support Coordinator to ensure customer requirements, deadlines, and quality standards are met. This position provides day-to-day leadership on the production floor, assists with shipping and receiving operations, maintains inventory accuracy, and promotes a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProduction Coordination
- Coordinate daily production activities to ensure work is completed efficiently and according to customer requirements.
- Set up production areas and prepare materials for daily operations.
- Monitor workflow and production output to ensure productivity goals are achieved.
- Assist in assigning work and providing direction to production staff and Direct Support Professionals.
- Identify and address production bottlenecks and workflow issues.
- Ensure production schedules and deadlines are met.
Materials & Inventory Management
- Coordinate the movement of materials, parts, and finished goods throughout the facility.
- Ensure production staff and individuals served have adequate materials and supplies throughout the workday.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate material needs.
- Assist with ordering production materials, supplies, and transportation as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory and production records.
Quality Assurance
- Inspect completed products for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
- Verify proper labeling and packaging of finished products.
- Monitor production quality standards and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Track and document production quantities and quality measures.
Shipping & Receiving
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load, unload, store, and transport materials and finished products.
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation.
Safety & Facility Operations
- Promote and enforce safe work practices and facility safety standards.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient production environment.
- Report safety concerns, equipment issues, and maintenance needs.
- Assist with facility and equipment inspections as required.
Team Support
- Provide leadership, training, and support to production staff and individuals served.
- Serve as a resource for production-related questions and concerns.
- Demonstrate all production floor functions and provide coverage as needed.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous manufacturing, production, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Basic computer skills and ability to maintain production records.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
- Ability to operate forklifts, hand carts, scales, and small hand tools.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to work in an environment with moderate noise, dust, vibration, and fumes.
- Must successfully complete required pre-employment physical examination and drug screening.
- Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer as needed.
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
