Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing expert pharmaceutical care within a hospital setting, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for diverse patient populations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical pharmacy experience, including specialized knowledge in critical care, trauma, pediatrics, and oncology. As a Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in medication management, regulatory compliance, patient assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration to promote optimal health outcomes.
Duties
- Dispense medications accurately while adhering to pharmaceutical regulations and hospital protocols.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy plans.
- Collaborate with medical staff to develop and adjust treatment regimens for complex cases such as ICU, PICU, trauma, and oncology patients.
- Manage IV infusions and aseptic techniques to ensure sterile preparation and administration of medications.
- Monitor patient responses to therapies, including pain management and acute care interventions.
- Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulatory standards and maintain meticulous documentation within Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS).
- Precept pharmacy residents and junior staff, fostering professional development and clinical expertise.
- Oversee medication administration processes across various departments including emergency room and hospital medicine units.
- Provide specialized consultation on physiology, anatomy, drug regulation, and medical terminology relevant to pharmacotherapy.
- Support hospital initiatives related to pharmaceutical safety, medication reconciliation, and regulatory audits.
Skills
- Extensive clinical pharmacy experience with a focus on hospital medicine, ICU, trauma centers (Level I & II), pediatrics, and oncology.
- Proven expertise in managed care practices and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics relevant to acute care settings.
- Proficiency in Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) for medication management and documentation.
- Experience with IV infusion preparation, aseptic techniques, and sterile compounding.
- Skilled in patient service delivery with excellent communication abilities for multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability in drug regulation adherence, patient assessment, pain management—including acute pain—and medication administration.
- Background in post-residency clinical practice or pharmacy residency programs; prior precepting experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with emergency room procedures and critical care protocols such as ICU experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology pertinent to hospital-based pharmacy practice.
