Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Driver/Packer to join our team. This role involves operating various types of commercial vehicles, ensuring timely delivery and efficient packing of goods. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to handle physical tasks related to moving and packing items. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles including box trucks, flatbeds, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers.
- Drive route-specific deliveries, shuttle services, or heavy haul transports as required.
- Load and unload cargo using pallet jacks, forklifts, or manual handling techniques.
- Ensure all shipments are packed securely and correctly for transport.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding schedules and delivery statuses.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during operation of commercial vehicles.
- Assist in warehouse operations when not on the road, including moving inventory and organizing stock.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including route driving, shuttle driving, or heavy equipment operation.
- Knowledge of various vehicle types such as box trucks, limousines, school buses, tanker trucks, or tractor-trailers is preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, manual transmissions, or heavy equipment as needed.
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with team members and clients.
- Physical ability to move heavy loads safely and efficiently.
- Valid driver’s license with relevant endorsements (e.g., CDL for tractor-trailers or tanker trucks).
Experience with freight handling, warehouse operations, or military logistics is advantageous. This role requires a dedicated professional committed to safety and efficiency in transportation and packing operations.
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
