Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience.
- Present menus, recommend dishes and beverages, and upsell specials to enhance guest satisfaction and restaurant sales.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems like Aloha or Micros, ensuring proper processing of transactions.
- Serve food and drinks promptly, including spirits, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining high standards of presentation.
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed during food handling, serving, and clearing tables.
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting for new guests, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and communicate guest preferences or special requests effectively.
Requirements
- Prior experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros; experience with OpenTable is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail mixing, and beverage service techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Ability to manage time efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for processing cash transactions accurately.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures.
- Previous experience in food industry roles such as host/hostess or food server is advantageous.
