DESCRIPTION: We are looking for a long-term private duty day nurse (pediatric) 2-3 each week from 8/8:30 am to 5:30/6 pm in Cambridge MA. MUST stay up-do-date on COVID and flu vaccines (please provide the dates of your last vaccinations). PICU/NICU/ICU-step-down level experience + is required.
Lex is a very sweet 8-year-old, happy boy who relies on us for all care. He is non-mobile, non-verbal, with a progressive muscle-wasting disease, paralyzed diaphragm (fully trach-vent dependent), and a TBI. Parents do all the trach/gtube/catheter changes and daily trach tie changes/cleaning. Parking is not an issue - a long-term home care parking pass will be provided. All genders and cultures are welcome!
Our home (and life) is built around Lex. We're looking for a nurse for long-term who can train to be part of our team, both as a highly skilled professional and a person in our home caring for our little boy. Lex has a very sweet old cat who loves him very much but will ignore you. Our home is very clean – no cat hair/allergens. Snacks and wifi provided too!
You’ll eventually care for Lex alone; both parents work (when everyone's comfortable after several + shifts). Experience with trach/vent patients is mandatory, as is ICU-step down level or equivalent emergency experience (BCH prescribed). Please only contact us if you're up-to-date with COVID & flu vaccinations - no exceptions (BCH letter of medical necessity on file).
PAY: MassHealth CSN rates (1099 income): $78 - $112/hr.
SCHEDULE: 2-3 weekdays/week 8:30 -5:30 (opportunities to pick up an occasional evening shift & cover/swap day shifts with other day RN).
