Maintenance Technician
Work Schedule
- Hours: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Days: Monday – Friday (Some weekends may be required)
Position Summary
Maintenance Technician responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of campus facilities and surrounding grounds. This role includes performing minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs while ensuring facilities remain safe, functional, and well-maintained.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform minor repairs and replacements of plumbing fixtures, valves, and related devices.
- Perform minor repairs and replacements of electrical fixtures, devices, and appliances.
- Complete minor carpentry work, including repairs to windows, doors, hardware, screens, and furniture.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Observe and report facility defects, deterioration, and maintenance needs through the work order system.
- Assist with coordinating major repairs, painting projects, and facility setup activities.
- Communicate with administrative staff and event hosts regarding special setup and furnishing requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections of campus buildings and ensure deficiencies are addressed promptly.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of related maintenance experience.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance instructions, technical procedures, and manuals.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
- Experience using email platforms such as Outlook or Lotus Notes.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Preferred QualificationsCertifications/Licenses
- Current and valid Georgia Driver's License required.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to:
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Handle maintenance tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Stand, walk, climb, stoop, crawl, talk, hear, and smell.
- Occasionally required to sit.
- Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Must possess close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
