Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Mental Health Provider to provide mental health support and services to students at an Elementary School in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and families and a strong understanding of children's emotional, behavioral, and social needs. The provider will work collaboratively with students, families, school staff, and other professionals to promote student well-being and success.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and/or group mental health counseling and support to students.
- Assess students' emotional, behavioral, and social needs.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment and support plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, administrators, and other school personnel.
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding student needs and progress.
- Help students develop coping skills, emotional regulation, social skills, and positive behavioral strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Participate in school meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions as appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all applicable professional, ethical, and school policies.
- Provide support and appropriate referrals when additional services are needed.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related mental health field preferred.
- Appropriate New Jersey professional license or certification, as applicable to the position.
- Experience working with children and/or adolescents preferred.
- School-based mental health experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff.
- Spanish-speaking preferred.
