Star Signs, Inc. is an employee-owned company specializing in custom signage fabrication and graphics solutions.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our sign fabrication team. The Estimator is responsible for reviewing project specifications, drawings, and customer requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates for custom signage projects. This role works closely with sales, project management, engineering, and production teams to ensure competitive pricing and successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review bid documents, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Prepare accurate material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and installation cost estimates.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and production personnel to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain estimating databases, pricing structures, and historical cost information.
- Assist with project handoff to operations after contract award.
- Monitor market pricing trends and supplier costs.
- Ensure estimates align with company capabilities, schedules, and profitability goals.
Qualifications:
- Experience in sign manufacturing, fabrication, construction estimating, or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of sign materials, fabrication methods, installation processes, and project management principles.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency with estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and ERP/project management systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide examples of current and past projects demonstrating collaboration with sales, design, project management, fabrication, installation with the result being a successfully estimated project.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of estimating experience in the signage, architectural metal, fabrication, or construction industry.
- Knowledge of illuminated signs, channel letters, monument signs, wayfinding systems, and large-format graphics.
This position plays a critical role in securing profitable projects while supporting the company's commitment to quality, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Pay based on Experience.
