Position Title: Director of Behavioral Healthcare
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Position Overview:
As the Director of Behavioral Healthcare, you will be responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and guidance to advance the mission and vision of our organization in the realm of behavioral healthcare. You will partner with our Chief Operating Officer, playing a pivotal role in shaping the direction and driving the growth of incorporating mental health services with existing substance use services to develop integrated co-occurring disorder programs and services.
In this key leadership position, you will collaborate with executive leadership and clinical teams to develop and execute initiatives that enhance access, quality, and outcomes of integrated behavioral healthcare for our community. Your expertise will be critical in developing and advancing our Behavioral Health Center’s impact and expanding our reach to underserved populations.
Position Responsibilities:
Program Planning and Execution:
· Partner with the COO to create and implement a comprehensive plan for behavioral healthcare programs aligned with organizational goals.
· Drive innovation and expansion of services to meet the evolving needs of our community.
· Foster collaboration and partnerships to enhance service integration and maximize community impact.
Program Development and Oversight:
· Provide strategic guidance in the development, implementation, and evaluation of behavioral healthcare programs.
· Ensure programs are person-centered, culturally responsive, and aligned with best practices.
· Monitor program outcomes and make data-driven decisions to optimize program effectiveness.
Clinical Excellence and Quality Improvement:
· Promote a culture of clinical excellence and adherence to evidence-based practices.
· Collaborate with clinical leaders to establish and monitor clinical protocols, standards, and quality improvement initiatives.
· Provide oversight of all clinical subcontractors.
· Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in behavioral healthcare to drive continuous improvement.
Financial Management and Resource Allocation:
· Oversee financial management of behavioral healthcare programs, including budgeting, revenue generation, and resource allocation.
· Ensure efficient utilization of resources and fiscal responsibility.
· Ensure compliance with grant guidelines, regulations, and reporting deadlines.
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building:
· Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community partners, government agencies, and advocacy groups.
· Collaborate with external partners to foster integrated care models and enhance access to comprehensive behavioral healthcare services.
· Represent the organization in relevant forums, conferences, and community events to promote awareness and collaboration.
Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
· Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including OhioMHAS, Medicaid, CARF, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.
· Mitigate risks through the development and implementation of effective policies, procedures, and quality assurance measures.
Work Characteristics:
· Strong understanding of OhioMHAS, Medicaid, HIPAA, CARF, Fair Housing, and applicable regulations, standards, and guidelines.
· Strong strategic thinking and program planning abilities.
· Excellent knowledge of compliance requirements and evidence-based practices in behavioral healthcare.

Working Conditions:
· Work schedule: M-F daytime schedule.
· Work environment: Primarily on-site with flexibility for remote work as appropriate.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, climb stairs, balance, sit, walk, type, kneel, and crouch.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Master's degree in a relevant field.
· Five or more years of experience in program director roles, preferably in mental health and substance use services.
· Strong understanding of behavioral healthcare operations, electronic medical records, and Medicaid documentation requirements.
· Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
· Familiarity with CARF accreditation and OhioMHAS certification requirements.
· Solid grasp of quality assurance principles for mental health and substance use services, including data analysis and performance metrics.
· Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
· Experience with creating a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
