Central Arkansas Gastroenterology Clinic is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about revenue cycle management, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement for patient services.

As a Medical Biller, you will play a vital role in the financial success of our practice by managing the billing process from claim submission through payment collection.
Responsibilities include:
- Submit electronic and paper claims accurately and promptly.
- Review claims for accuracy prior to submission.
- Correct and resubmit rejected claims.
- Follow up on denied, unpaid, and underpaid insurance claims.
- Prepare and submit insurance appeals with supporting documentation.
- Post insurance payments, patient payments, and electronic remittance advice (ERAs).
- Research payment discrepancies and resolve billing issues.
- Work assigned accounts receivable (A/R) reports to reduce outstanding balances.
- Ensure claims are submitted within payer filing deadlines.
- Verify coding accuracy and communicate documentation issues with providers when necessary.
- Answer billing questions from patients professionally and courteously.
- Process patient refunds and account adjustments according to clinic policy.
- Maintain accurate documentation of insurance communications.
- Collaborate with providers, front office staff, and clinical staff to resolve billing concerns.
- Stay current on Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, CPT, ICD-10, and payer guideline updates.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of medical billing experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with insurance claims, payment posting, and denial management
- Strong computer and data entry skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Professional communication and customer service skills
Preferred
- Gastroenterology or specialty practice billing experience
- Experience with Athenahealth, gGastro/gMed, or similar practice management software
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or other billing/coding certification
