Position Title: Assistant Executive Housekeeper

Job Overview
Support the Executive Housekeeper in leading Housekeeping operations and personnel to ensure product quality standards are met and premium service is provided to guests. This role directly oversees daily cleanliness standards and focuses heavily on team engagement, training, and regular visual inspections of all guest rooms, public areas, laundry, and work spaces. Assist in staffing, scheduling, and supervising employees while administering policies, procedures, and standards as established by the Brand and Company.
Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Cleanliness & Quality Standards: Provides daily supervision and hands-on direction for Housekeeping activities to uphold the absolute highest levels of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
- Visual Inspections: Conducts meticulous visual inspections of all guest rooms, suites, storage areas, laundry, restrooms, and public areas daily to guarantee brand compliance and aesthetic upkeep.
- Team Engagement & Coaching: Actively engages with the team to foster a positive work environment. Assists in interviewing, training, supervising, coaching, and evaluating department staff.
- Training & Development: Implements and leads programs for employee orientation, training, and ongoing development. Conducts periodic training and retraining to introduce new cleaning procedures and safety protocols.
- Labor & Scheduling: Assists the Executive Housekeeper with scheduling staff according to standards, productivity goals, and forecasted occupancy.
- Department Communication: Maintains strong departmental communication and team alignment through daily huddles, staff meetings, logbooks, and bulletin boards.
- Safety & Security: Enforces hotel property security policies and procedures for the personal safety of guests and employees, including room attendant key control.
- Inventory & Supplies: Conducts monthly inventory of linen, supplies, and equipment. Ensures employees are provided with adequate operating equipment and chemical supplies in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Room Status Reporting: Compiles and reports accurate, real-time status of guest rooms to the front desk and management.
- Guest Satisfaction: Works closely with management and other department heads to resolve guest complaints efficiently.
- Operations Support: May be required to work as a room attendant or in the laundry department during peak times or low-occupancy periods to support the team.
- Manager-on-Duty: Performs other duties and special projects assigned by management, and may serve as "Manager-on-Duty" as required.

- Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the hotel from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to facilitate the communication process.

- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Must possess mathematical skills, including basic math utilized for tracking inventory, understanding variances, and monitoring labor goals.
- Must have a flexible schedule and ability to work days, evenings, or nights any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Must have exceptional customer service skills and a sharp eye for detail.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a busy environment, troubleshoot issues, and remain flexible.
Physical Demands
- Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
- Frequently standing up and/or moving within and outside the facility.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning and visual inspection tasks.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and team members.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being near vision, depth perception, and strong visual acuity for detailed cleanliness inspections.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment, including office equipment such as computers and tablets.
Education & Experience
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Prior Housekeeping experience required. Prior supervisory, leadership, or team-lead experience in a hospitality environment highly preferred.
- Licenses or Certificates: Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government-required licenses, certificates, or permits. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to meet company MVR requirements.
- Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per hotel standards.
