Job Title: Mobile Crisis Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-A / QMHP-C)

The Mobile Crisis QMHP-A / QMHP-C provides community-based crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing acute emotional, behavioral, or mental health distress. Services are delivered in homes, shelters, motels, schools, hospitals, and other community settings. The QMHP works as part of a Mobile Crisis Team under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional and supports stabilization, safety planning, skill-building, and linkage to ongoing services in accordance with Medicaid and DBHDS guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to mental health crises in community settings as part of a Mobile Crisis Team
- Conduct clinical screenings and support comprehensive crisis assessments under licensed supervision
- Provide immediate emotional support, de-escalation, and stabilization interventions
- Assist with development, review, and reinforcement of Safety Plans
- Implement trauma-informed, strengths-based interventions to support emotional regulation and coping
- Provide psychoeducation related to symptoms, coping skills, and crisis resources
- Support individuals in identifying triggers, warning signs, and healthy coping strategies
- Coordinate with licensed clinicians, family members, hospitals, schools, law enforcement, and community providers as appropriate
- Assist with referrals and linkage to outpatient therapy, psychiatric services, primary care, and community resources
- Maintain accurate, timely, and Medicaid-compliant documentation (BIRP notes, progress notes, contact logs)
- Participate in on-call rotations, evening, weekend, or holiday coverage as required
- Follow all agency policies, ethical standards, and confidentiality requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- QMHP-A or QMHP-C credential (required)
- Bachelor’s degree (QMHP-A) or qualifying education/experience (QMHP-C) in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
- Eligibility to provide Medicaid-funded community-based mental health services
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in crisis services, community mental health, emergency services, or residential settings
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis stabilization, and de-escalation techniques
- Familiarity with Medicaid documentation and community-based service delivery
