Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant Manager to help lead daily operations at Snelgrove Ice Cream. The ideal candidate will support the General Manager in running smooth shifts, developing team members, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining the high-quality standards expected from the Snelgrove brand.
As an Assistant Manager, you will play an important leadership role in the store. You will help supervise team members, support training, assist with scheduling and daily execution, and take an active role in operations during busy periods. This position may be part-time or full-time depending on store needs and candidate availability, with an expected schedule of approximately 30 hours per week.
This position requires evening availability and regular closing shifts. Assistant Managers are expected to help lead the store during evening business hours and complete closing responsibilities on a regular basis.
ResponsibilitiesStore Operations
- Support the General Manager in overseeing daily store operations.
- Help ensure smooth and efficient workflow during each shift.
- Take an active role in store operations during peak business hours to help provide a seamless guest experience.
- Regularly lead evening shifts and complete store closing responsibilities.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, food safety, and operational standards throughout the store.
- Assist with inventory, product preparation, stocking, and daily checklists.
- Help ensure that Snelgrove products are prepared and served according to company standards.
Staff Leadership
- Lead shifts and help direct team members during daily operations.
- Support the training and development of employees.
- Help create a positive, respectful, and team-focused work environment.
- Coach employees on customer service, product quality, speed, cleanliness, and teamwork.
- Assist the General Manager with scheduling, staffing needs, and employee accountability.
- Set the example by working hard, staying positive, and supporting the team during busy rushes.
Customer Service
- Ensure exceptional customer service and guest satisfaction.
- Respond professionally to customer questions, feedback, and concerns.
- Help create a welcoming, fun, and memorable experience for every guest.
- Support store-level efforts to improve the overall customer experience.
Financial and Business Support
- Assist the General Manager in controlling labor, waste, product quality, and daily costs.
- Help monitor sales, staffing, and operational performance.
- Support store goals related to sales growth, customer service, cleanliness, and efficiency.
- Participate in local store marketing, catering, community outreach, and other growth opportunities as directed by the General Manager.
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older.
- Previous leadership, shift lead, supervisor, or management experience preferred.
- Available to work approximately 30 hours per week.
- Evening availability required.
- Regular closing shifts required.
- Weekend availability required.
- Willing and able to regularly close the store and complete all required closing responsibilities.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and support a team.
- Positive attitude and passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to stand, bend, scoop, and regularly lift up to 40 pounds.
- Comfortable using technology, including POS systems, email, scheduling tools, and other web-based programs.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and willing to work hands-on with the team.
- Must complete a background investigation.
- A job performance reference check may also be required.
