Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Teacher for 8th grade Science to inspire curiosity and foster a love for scientific exploration among middle school students. Duties
- Design and implement innovative lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles and educational technology tools to enhance student engagement.
- Deliver comprehensive science instruction covering topics such as cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, organic chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, and physics concepts including trigonometry, geometry, calculus, differential equations, and discrete math.
- Utilize laboratory experience and research laboratory skills to facilitate hands-on experiments like dissection and microbiology investigations while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support individual growth.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using behavior management strategies; foster an inclusive environment that respects diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum implementation, instructional design, lesson planning, and integrating IT-enabled lessons to improve teaching outcomes.
- Mentor students academically through tutoring sessions; support their preparation for standardized tests; provide guidance on academic advising when needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance; ensure compliance with educational regulations and institutional policies.
- Engage in professional development activities related to higher education teaching methods, educational research, and the latest advancements in science education.
Experience
- Proven classroom teaching experience at the middle school or high school level with a focus on science education.
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching science subjects such as biology (including genetics), chemistry (including organic chemistry), physics (including calculus applications), and mathematics (algebra, trigonometry).
- Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds; adept at adapting lessons to accommodate various learning styles.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures including dissection techniques; hands-on research laboratory experience is highly desirable.
- Strong background in curriculum development, instructional design, and implementing IT-integrated lessons within a classroom setting.
- Knowledge of educational technology tools for science instruction; ability to incorporate digital resources effectively into lessons.
- Experience working with standardized testing formats; skilled in preparing students for assessments while fostering critical thinking skills.
- Previous involvement in private school environments or alternative education settings such as Montessori or special education programs is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to collaborate professionally with colleagues on lesson planning and curriculum initiatives.
