Best Care EMS is looking for Day and Night Shift EMS Supervisors to join our team.
GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
- Monitors station operations to ensure the delivery of quality and cost effective service. This would include but not be limited to appropriate vehicle utilization and efficient in-service times for crews.
- Assures that all EMS personnel are compliant with licensing and certification requirements by inspecting original licenses or credentials.
- Communicates with on duty crews to ensure operational readiness.
- Ensures crew compliance with established medical protocol, policies and procedures.
- Manages field personnel scheduling.
- Performs evaluations of field personnel.
- Ensures all patient care reports and supporting documentation are complete, correct and delivered in a timely manner.
- Acts as a backup Medic on emergency and non-emergency calls as needed.
- Evaluates, counsels and participates in disciplinary procedures of field personnel.
- Regularly oversees vehicle stocking/cleaning to ensure they meet or exceed state requirements in regards to maintenance, equipment, supplies and cleanliness.
- Ensures that personnel maintain the station in a clean, sanitary and functional condition.
- Assists in the orientation and in-service training of new and current employees.
- Determines the need for and ensures that Incident Reports, Accident Reports and other documentation is completed as required.
- Works with other supervisors and/or managers to evaluate and resolve operational problems.
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. The individual in this position must possess the following qualifications:
- Current Texas EMT-Basic, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic certification/licensure.
- Minimum of two (2) years of EMS field experience at the current certification/licensure level.
- Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or employee management experience.
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to coach, precept, and evaluate field personnel.
- Ability to supervise employees, enforce company policies, and address performance concerns.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.
- Working knowledge of the local service area, hospitals, contracted facilities, and commonly used treatment centers.
- Knowledge of applicable EMS protocols, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Dispatch and other departments to maintain staffing and operational readiness.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and company operational software.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as operationally required.
