Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control / Quality Assurance Manager (QC/QA Manager) to oversee quality systems and quality control activities at our manufacturing facility in Calhoun, Georgia.
This is a Direct Hire opportunity for a hands-on quality professional who is ready to take ownership of quality standards, systems, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
The QC/QA Manager will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and enforcing quality standards throughout the production process. This position will oversee ISO 9001:2015 compliance, laboratory testing, product quality, complaint management, root cause analysis, corrective actions, calibration programs, and quality documentation.
The ideal candidate has experience working in a chemical manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, coatings, or laboratory environment and is comfortable working directly with production, operations, customers, and global quality teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish, implement, oversee, and enforce quality control standards for the Calhoun manufacturing facility.
- Manage ISO 9001:2015 quality systems and compliance for multiple locations.
- Maintain quality documentation, calibration records, complaints, audits, and corrective action processes.
- Conduct and oversee testing of raw materials, in-process materials, samples, and finished products.
- Perform chemical analyses, measurements, inspections, and other testing to confirm products meet specifications.
- Complete, interpret, document, and maintain required quality reports.
- Log and manage quality and product issues within company quality systems.
- Coordinate customer complaints and lead or support defect analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot quality concerns and review product specifications.
- Communicate quality and testing results to Operations and Account Management.
- Inspect, calibrate, and maintain laboratory and plant quality-testing equipment in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
- Maintain accurate equipment calibration records.
- Support product launches and required quality documentation.
- Attend and manage pilot batches for new products.
- Collaborate with Global Quality and Quality Management teams.
- Conduct routine plant equipment inspections to support safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
- Package and label samples and shipments according to applicable regulatory requirements.
- Follow all company safety, health, and environmental procedures.
- Assist with plant production activities when needed.
- Operate powered industrial trucks or other authorized plant equipment when required.
- Travel to other facilities, third-party logistics warehouses, customer locations, and international company locations as business needs require.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline preferred.
- Previous quality control or quality assurance experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality systems strongly preferred.
- Experience with quality documentation, audits, calibration, complaints, and corrective actions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
