Position Overview
Prospering Minds Counseling is seeking a full-time licensed mental health therapist who is compassionate, authentic, clinically grounded, and committed to trauma-informed care.
The ideal candidate will have experience treating PTSD, Complex PTSD, dissociation, and other trauma-related concerns. This clinician should feel comfortable working with individuals, couples, and/or families and be committed to creating a safe, collaborative, and empowering therapeutic space.
This position requires availability on Mondays, weeknights, and Saturdays during the day. The role is primarily in person, with some flexibility for hybrid sessions.

Responsibilities
- Provide trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy to individuals, couples, and/or families.
- Maintain a caseload of approximately 20–30 clinical hours per week.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that reflect each client’s goals, needs, strengths, and presenting concerns.
- Build authentic, trusting therapeutic relationships with clients.
- Utilize trauma-informed interventions that prioritize safety, empowerment, collaboration, and stabilization.
- Provide a warm, client-centered, and compassionate therapeutic environment.
- Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with ethical, legal, and practice standards.
- Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities.
- Collaborate with leadership and team members to support a healthy, transparent, and supportive work culture.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning related to trauma treatment, evidence-based practice, and clinical growth.
- Maintain professional boundaries, ethical standards, and a commitment to high-quality client care.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a related mental health field.
- Active Illinois clinical license or license-eligible credential, such as LPC, LSW, LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent.
- Must be eligible to provide clinical therapy services in Illinois.
- Prior clinical experience working with trauma-related concerns, including PTSD, Complex PTSD, dissociation, attachment trauma, relational trauma, or similar presenting issues.
- Ability to provide trauma-informed, compassionate, and client-centered care.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, documentation, rapport-building, and therapeutic intervention.
- Comfort working with individuals, couples, and/or families.
- Ability to maintain a consistent caseload and provide reliable client care.
- Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and professional standards.
- Willingness to participate in team consultation, collaboration, and ongoing professional development.
- Ability to work primarily in person at the Carol Stream office.
- Availability to work Mondays, weeknights, and Saturdays during the day.
Preferred Qualifications
- Independent Illinois clinical licensure, such as LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT.
- Specialized training or experience in trauma-focused treatment modalities, such as EMDR, IFS, somatic therapy, DBT, TF-CBT, CPT, ACT, or other evidence-based trauma interventions.
- Experience working in a private practice setting.
- Experience with couples, family systems, attachment-based work, or relational trauma.
- Comfort supporting clients with complex trauma, emotional dysregulation, dissociation, anxiety, depression, grief, or identity-related concerns.
- Interest in continued growth within a trauma-informed, holistic, and collaborative practice environment.

Schedule
This position may include:
- Day shifts.
- Evening shifts.
- Monday to Friday availability.
- Saturdays during the day.
- Weekends as needed.
- 4-hour or 8-hour shift options depending on caseload and scheduling needs.
