Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Truck Driver, specializing in both local and over-the-road (OTR) routes. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual/automatic transmissions across local and OTR routes, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, forklifts, or other equipment as needed, ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
- Manage route driving efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel usage.
- Handle refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, hazardous materials (dangerous goods), and freight requiring specialized handling such as dump trucks or roll-off trucks.
- Ensure proper documentation of deliveries, pickups, and cargo handling in compliance with logistics protocols.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking for hazardous materials regulations compliance when transporting dangerous goods.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries, report issues promptly, and ensure smooth operations on every route.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL license; proficiency in operating tractor-trailers with manual transmissions preferred.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods.
- Skilled in route planning using GPS navigation tools to ensure timely deliveries across diverse terrains.
- Experience handling various types of freight including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and freight requiring special equipment like forklifts or dump trucks.
- Excellent manual handling skills for loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently.
- Ability to maintain focus during long hours of driving while adhering to all safety standards.
- Familiarity with logistics cargo handling procedures and truck maintenance routines.
