Board of Directors – Advisory & Fundraising Member (Volunteer) About Us: The Penniless Peace Project is an Oregon-registered church entity dedicated to healing the earth and ending hunger and homelessness through harmonious, sustainable habitats. We are establishing rural rest stops, workshops, and community spaces across the United States. We are seeking passionate, visionary leaders to join our Board of Directors to help guide our strategic milestones and fuel this nationwide mission. The Role: As a Board Member, you will play a direct role in shaping the growth and deployment of our community workshops and land acquisition projects. This is a high-impact, collaborative volunteer leadership role. Board meetings are held once a month for 1–2 hours, facilitated by our executive administrative team, where members collaborate on project milestones, offer strategic insight, and drive our mission forward. Fiduciary & Fundraising Commitment: To support our rapid expansion, our board operates on a "Give-or-Get" model. Each board member commits to a $20,000 annual fundraising goal (which breaks down to roughly $1,666/month). This goal can be met through a personal tax-deductible donation, corporate sponsorships, or by leading seasonal fundraising campaigns utilizing your network. Monthly progress is tracked collaboratively during our check-ins. Key Responsibilities: Attend a 1-to-2-hour monthly virtual board meeting to review milestones and contribute strategic ideas. Actively participate in or lead monthly fundraising goals toward your annual $20,000 commitment. Serve as an ambassador for the Penniless Peace Project, helping to expand our network of land donors, tools, and community members. Requirements: A deep passion for sustainability, community building, and humanitarian work. Strong networking, communication, or fundraising skills. Ability to commit to the monthly financial fundraising target. Previous experience on a non-profit or church board is a plus, but not required
